Quinn is from Brownsville, Oregon and grew up in the Willamette valley. He received his bachelors of music in jazz studies from the University of Oregon and has worked as a musician and martial arts teacher across Oregon. He holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu and a brown belt in Judo. He is interested in biomechanics and exercise physiology and their applications to the grappling martial arts.
