Kelly Chandler

Academic interests

Kelly applies a work-family justice lens to understand the diversity of lived experiences of adults at work, at home, and in their work-family integration. She studies how job conditions, workplace culture, and work-family policies affect the health and well-being of employees and their families. She also studies daily stress and emotional transmission in families.

Biography

Kelly Chandler is an associate professor in the School of Human Development and Family Science in the College of Health at Oregon State University. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Human Development and Family Studies. She is affiliated with both the Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families and the Center for Healthy Aging Research.

After receiving her PhD in Human Development and Family Studies at the Pennsylvania State University, she was a research assistant professor in the Center for Healthy Aging at Penn State. For five years she was a co-investigator and project manager a part of the Work, Family & Health Network. Prior to coming to Oregon State University she was a research and evaluation scientist at the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State.
