Chandra Char

Biography

Chandra Char’s work focused on barriers and access to health services during the COVID-19 pandemic for people with disabilities. Her work specifically investigated experiences of adults with hearing loss utilizing health care. Chandra used her academic training to advocate for the inclusion of people with disabilities in public health diversity, equity & inclusion efforts.

Spotlight

Received a $10,000 grant (August 2020 - June 2021) from the U.S. Social Security Administration, funded as part of the Analyzing Relationships Between Disability, Rehabilitation and Work small grant program. This grant will help fund her dissertation project investigating the relationship between hearing loss and perceived health care discrimination among deaf and hard-of-hearing adults in the United States.
