This article describes the iterative process for developing Preschool RULER and how the existing approach was modified to meet the unique needs of early childhood education settings. Preschool RULER includes a whole-school approach for full integration of the work including professional development, instructional tools and curricular elements grounded in developmentally appropriate practices, and methods for fostering home-school connections.
