What inspired or interested you about your field of study? And why did you choose OSU/the college?

I have always wanted to run my own food business. When I came to OSU, I was an engineering student and after doing two years of that I wasn't happy. A friend of mine went through the program I'm in now, and talked about how they really enjoyed it. So, I switched majors to nutrition - nutrition in foodservice, culinary and food systems and I have no regrets.

What are you doing in your internship and/or what is your main project?

I'm learning all the behind-the-scenes information of running a small business in Corvallis, and learning how to work all the positions in the cafe.

What do you see as the greatest value of your internship? Or, what have you learned the most in your internship?

I want to open a food business in Corvallis, so I thought it would help to know the practical/ hands-on parts of running a business. And since the cafe is in Corvallis, I get to see how the local business laws work first hand.

Have you received a scholarship? If so, how has it affected your life and your studies?

Yes, one, when I started this major. It made that year a lot less stressful, especially in the financial department. I received the Shriver Thompson Grant for 2022-2023.
