What inspired or interested you about your field of study? And why did you choose OSU/the college?:
My degree in public health with a concentration in health promotion and health behavior and my minor in microbiology will be very helpful in achieving my goal of working in the medical field.
Pursuing this field of study equips me with the information and ability to promote healthy habits and prevent illness, ultimately making a positive impact on people's health and well-being.
I also choose Oregon State University (OSU) because of Ecampus. I can complete my coursework online, which gives me the flexibility I need to manage my job and school responsibilities.
OSU's reputation for public health education and research, along with its dedication to providing high-quality online education, made it the ideal choice for me to pursue my academic objectives and realize my professional aspirations in health care.
Tell us about your time at Oregon State and in the college. Is there someone or something who/that helped you be successful?:
The experience I've had at Oregon State University (OSU) has been immensely fulfilling. Taking the H206 Pro/Catalyst Mentoring course was one thing that really helped me succeed. I was able to network with like-minded people and gain insightful guidance from experienced business leaders thanks to this course.
I also valued OSU's flexibility and readily available resources for learning. Being able to access course materials online and study at my own pace was crucial for someone who works two full-time jobs.
I was able to successfully manage my work and academic obligations thanks to the Ecampus option's flexibility, which made it possible for me to concentrate on my studies and achieve academic success.
All in all, I have had an immensely rewarding experience at OSU. My academic and personal development has been greatly supported by the resources and assistance offered to students, such as the online study possibilities and mentoring program. I am appreciative of the chances and experiences I had while attending OSU, and I can't wait to use the knowledge I gained in my future work in the medical field.
What are your post-college dreams/plans?:
After graduation, I hope to prepare for medical school to become a physician assistant specializing in emergency medicine. This career path aligns with my passion for health care and my desire to make a meaningful impact in people's lives.
I am eager to continue learning and gaining experience in the medical field, and I believe that becoming a physician assistant will allow me to fulfill my goal of providing high-quality care to those in need.
