What inspired or interested you about your field of study? And why did you choose OSU/the college?
I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict and I am also the mother of four children, three of whom are under age 8. I wanted a degree that would open a broad area of possibilities in which I would be able to offer my unique experience and perspective and help other parents navigate their recovery while parenting small children.
Tell us about your time at Oregon State and in the college. Is there someone or something who/that helped you be successful?
I could not have gotten where I am without my amazing and very tolerant husband. It has been a long and very bumpy road to get here and I am blessed to have the partner I have.
What are your post-college dreams/plans?
I hope to begin working with Head Start of Lane County, specifically in Florence, OR because that's where I live. From there I don't have an exact plan but I do for sure want to work with preschool age kids whose parents have substance abuse disorder and work towards breaking the generational cycle and curse of alcoholism and addiction.
