Ask Rachel about the Oregon State MPH program.
I love listening to music, playing flute, reading, and playing RPG maker style horror games!
I picked OSU because I was really drawn to the interdisciplinary emphasis of the program. I knew going in that I wanted to be able to have the freedom to tailor my coursework to my career goals and OSU was the program with the most freedom in electives.
I really enjoyed H 575 Evaluation of Health Promotion and Education Programs because of it's all about applying the material. The course is a lot of work, but it's so rewarding to work together to actually plan a program evaluation for a community partner!
Getting to present at the CPHHS Graduate Research Symposium was an amazing experience. It was a joy to get to share my research and hear about all of the amazing work my peers are doing!
I would recommend taking time to talk with current students about their experience in the program. Additionally, it’s helpful to take a look at the course catalog to see if the available coursework aligns with your interests.
That it's okay to have multiple interests within the field, you have plenty of time to explore your options!
