Why did you choose Oregon State for your MPH?

I chose OSU because it is close to home and because of the amazing experiences I had here as an undergraduate. The faculty are also very knowledgeable and very supportive of students.

What is your favorite course taken in the MPH so far?

So far, H 580 Linear Regression and Analysis has been my favorite course because I love working with code and data! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about inferential methods and appropriate applications of linear regression and survival analysis.

Most memorable experience in the program?

One of my most memorable experiences in the program was helping out with the scavenger hunt hosted by the MPH ambassadors. I had an enjoyable time participating in the scavenger hunt, as well as socializing with second year MPH students and undergraduate students who have an interest in OSU's MPH program.

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting their MPH?

In recent years, public health has shown how important it is. Public health is also ingrained into our day-to-day lives. It is important to explore the different aspects of each MPH option to see what aligns best with your interests. Reach out to current students within the program if you have any questions!

If you were to recommend the MPH to your best friend, what would you say?

Do it! If you are passionate about health and enjoy working in team settings, an MPH would be perfect for you. Public health has a wide range of disciplines to choose from!
