NIH Mentored Research Scientist Development Award

Michelle Odden, assistant professor of epidemiology in the college’s Center for Healthy Aging Research, received a $137,532 from the NIH Mentored Research Scientist Development Award. With this funding, Odden will identify the strongest risk factors for cardiovascular disease in a National Institute for Health-funded cohort study of elderly adults. She will also incorporate computer simulation of cardiovascular disease to identify the most promising interventions for this disease. Odden came to OSU from a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
