American Society of Interior Designers

in

The American Society of Interior Designers- Oregon State University Chapter is a club for students interested in the fields of interior design, both commercial and residential. ASID is a professional club that focuses on networking with design professionals, practicing and implementing career skills and resume building. The student chapter of ASID meets monthly to hear guest speakers and go on field trips. Every October a group attends the Career Day at the Seattle Design Center, and every February a group attends the IIDA/ASID Student Day in Portland. Opportunities for job-shadowing a professional interior designer are also available through ASID. The chapter does at least one pro bono project every year. Recent projects have included helping with the construction of homes for Habitat for Humanity and designing rooms on the university campus. Besides professional development events, the chapter holds several social events to get together, relax and have fun outside of a school setting.
