The student workers in the Office of Academic Advising are Peer Advisers. Peer Advisers serve as representatives for the College of Public Health and Human Sciences and are responsible for supporting the college’s retention and recruitment efforts. Peer Advisers lend support by assisting students with online registration and prospective student visits; providing clerical support for the college’s Academic Advising Office; assisting with new student orientation programs; as well as representing the college at on-campus recruiting events. Peer Advisers also support advising of prospective and current students about major selection and provide information regarding the majors/options within the college. Peer Advisers are hired in the spring term and students with a strong interest in supporting the advising office’s mission are encouraged to apply.  Hiring of new Peer Advisers begin each January.  Please stop by then to pick up an application to apply to consideration.
