Petersen Visiting Scholar Award
The School of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences at Oregon State University has been pleased to sponsor the Petersen Visiting Scholar Award in Gerontology and Family Studies, funded by a generous gift from Jo Anne Leonard Petersen. Between 1997-1998 and 2009–2010, the School hosted a visiting scholar investigating some aspect of the nexus of gerontology and family studies. Scholars came from a wide range of fields including anthropology, human development, psychology, and sociology.
These Award winners engaged with School faculty who are active researchers in areas wherein gerontology and family studies intersect, such as caregiving to aging family members and intergenerational relationships. These School faculty members are active participants in the University’s Program in Gerontology as well as OSU's Center for Healthy Aging Research
