The mission of the School of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences is to discover, apply, and transmit knowledge that contributes to the optimal growth, development, and well-being of individuals and families across the life course. In the discovery of knowledge and preparation of professionals, department programs recognize the critical importance of ecological approaches, culture and gender, diversity, and global perspectives.
