Research/Career Interests:

My research focuses on maternity care in the US—determining effective and cost effective models of care; translating evidence-based, sustainable, and cost-effective models into practice; and decreasing adverse maternal outcomes resulting from over-medicalized births. I am also interested in physical activity during pregnancy, particularly with maternal outcomes following varying levels of activity volume and intensity. Current projects include evaluating the Optimal Fetal Positioning exercise regimen, exploring breastfeeding expectations and experiences among first-time mothers, and evaluating the Dutch model of maternity care when implemented in the US.
