If you love cooking up healthy fare and want to inspire others to eat better, you may have what it takes to become our 2016 GridIron Chef!
The Moore Family Center for Whole Grain Foods, Nutrition and Preventive Health and the College of Public Health and Human Sciences are hosting a healthy tailgate recipe contest, and we want your entries!
Submit your favorite snack, appetizer or tailgate food recipe and show the world that eating right can be both delicious and portable! You only need to submit the recipe – not a prepared dish.
The finalists' recipes will be featured at the Nov. 19 GridIron Chef 5k Fun Run.
It’s simple to enter. Just head over to the GridIron Chef Contest registration page to submit your recipe and see contest terms and conditions. You must be at least 18 years of age to enter. Please submit only one entry per person or group.
Our expert food and nutrition judging panel will re-create your recipes and select their favorites!
Your original recipe must be easy to serve at a tailgate party. The primary ingredient needs to fall into one of the following categories:
Faculty and students of the Moore Family Center and Oregon State University chefs will judge recipes based on the following criteria:
The finalists’ recipes will have a nutrition analysis performed by the Moore Family Center and will be included on the Moore Family Center and CPHHS college websites.
You will not need to prepare the dish at the event if you are selected as a finalist.
All finalists will receive prizes that include items such as Bob’s Red Mill gift cards and products, and CPHHS/Moore Family Center swag.
The GridIron Chef grand prize winner will take home Beaver football tickets and Bob's Red Mill gift cards and products - not to mention bragging rights as OSU's 2016 GridIron Chef!
