The Ceremony

The hooding ceremony honors CPHHS graduate students, from all programs, who completed their master’s level or PhD degrees during academic year 2015-2016, which includes Fall 2015 through Summer 2016.

Dr. Mike Bonetto will be the guest speaker at this year's hooding ceremony. Mike received a Ph.D. in health policy and an MPH from Oregon State University and has a unique portfolio of nearly 20 years of health care strategic planning and policy experience. He is currently the founder and president of Nexus Health Strategies. He was previously the Chief of Staff and Senior Health Policy Advisor in the Oregon Governor's Office – where he helped lead the transformation of the state’s Medicaid program.

It is optional for students participating in the ceremony to wear the graduation regalia-cap, gown and hood. For those who choose to wear the regalia, the program adviser will "hood" them during the ceremony. Those choosing not to wear the regalia will be honored in the same way as those who wear the regalia, but they will not be hooded.

Hooding regalia is available to purchase (but NOT for rent) at the OSU Bookstore.

A reception hosted by our college will be held in the Women's Building on the same afternoon TBD. You and your family are cordially invited to attend both events.
