Hooding Ceremony

The Ceremony

Continuing in the tradition of the Public Health program, this academic year marks the beginning of the first College of Public Health and Human Sciences (CPHHS) Hooding Ceremony.

The ceremony honors CPHHS graduate students, from all programs, who completed their master’s level or PhD degrees during academic year 2013-2014, which includes Fall 2013 through Summer 2014.

The ceremony will be in Milam Auditorium on the OSU Campus on Friday, of graduation week. Time to be determined.

It is optional for students participating in the ceremony to wear the graduation regalia-cap, gown and hood. For those who choose to wear the regalia, the program adviser will "hood" them during the ceremony. Those choosing not to wear the regalia will be honored in the same way as those who wear the regalia, but they will not be hooded.

Hooding regalia is available to purchase (for Masters students) and for rent (for PhD students) at the OSU Bookstore. Diplomas will not be awarded at the hooding ceremony.

A reception hosted by our college will be held in the Women's Building on the same afternoon TBD. You and your family are cordially invited to attend both events.
