The Dietetics option at Oregon State University meets the requirements set forth by the Commission for Accreditation of Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) for didactic programs offering the coursework needed to become a Registered Dietitian (RD).

Completion of a CADE accredited Dietetic Internship, along with a certification exam, are both required to gain the Registered Dietitian Credential.

The administration and maintenance of the credential is overseen by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Graduate students, post-bacc students, as well as undergraduate students can fulfill the academic component to becoming a Registered Dietitian at Oregon State University.

Oregon State University has a long-running history of meeting all accreditation standards. During 2010 the OSU DPD program completed the CADE/ADA re-accreditation process required by all programs every five years.

The ADA web content includes a list of all accredited programs.
